Mark Walbaum
Director of A&R

Prior to joining the team at Dark Spark Music,

Sighting the Los Angeles music scene and it's clubs and venues as home and his happy place since the mid 1980’s, “Dark” Mark Walbaum has scouted bands for various entities. These include, but are not limited to: Iron Works Music (an independent record label owned and operated by silver screen actor and musician, Kiefer Sutherland).

As their first A&R representative, Mark eventually discovered and signed musician Rocco Deluca to a then 5 album deal showcasing all over LA, the states, and Europe which included appearances on every late night talk show from LA to New York. This also led to taking part in a feature length international Rockumentary on VHI.

With a vision for artist discovery and development and a film and tv background, Mark has had the pleasure of being called on to supervise various projects. He has secured notable placements and exposure on shows such as “24” for 20th Century Fox television, “Close To Home” for Jerry Bruckheimer TV , And widely popular television series, "Gossip Girl” for the CW network... among others.

Mark is a known tastemaker in the booking community and music scene and has garnered radio exposure and press for up and coming bands on BuzzbandsLA and Southern California’s 95.5 KLOS new music discovery program “Check One... Two”.

His love for music and the arts is evident with his past involvement with Red Rock Entertainment’s The Red Party and The Life through Arts Foundation,  as well as his PR work for the red carpet. His accomplishment also include booking a live performance by the The Dandy Warhols for all in attendance for the cause at the private event.

Mark brings a forward thinking, collaborative, and proactive approach to Dark Spark through a unique creative lens and has the uncanny ability to identify and nurture the artists from the stage to the studio and back again. His foresight for boundless potential will be an unparalleled driving force for artists and fans alike in the new music age.
